The National Gallery of Australia is home to Australia's most prized collection of art works with over 100,000 works of art across four main areas: Australian art, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art, Asian art and International art.

This national art collection belongs to the Australian people and is passionately preserved and presented by the Gallery for the public's enjoyment and education.

Since its opening in 1982 the Gallery has recently undergone its biggest transformation with the worlds largest collection of Australian Indigenous art showcased in 11 specially designed galleries. Wander around the gardens that lie between the National Gallery of Australia and Lake Burley Griffin displaying the Gallery's substantial sculpture collection.
