Big Banana Coffs Harbour - NSW Landmarks

Landmark: Big Banana
Address: 351 Pacific Highway, Coffs Harbour, 2450, NSW

One of the most legendary "Big" attractions in New South Wales and possibly Australia, located just north of Coffs Harbour on the Pacific Highway, 565 kilometres north of Sydney.

What started out as an idea to stop passing traffic at his roadside banana stall in 1964, turned into an Aussie icon with the creation of the Big Banana. Mr John Landy enlisted the help of builder Alan Harvey to construct the biggest banana in the world and it was officially opened on the 22nd of December 1964.

Take a tour through the World of Bananas with a presentation including state-of-the-art theatre experience, a short plantation walk and finishing in the Games Room with interactive and fun displays.

Slide down the world's biggest inflatable waterside, carve up the ice in the sensational skating rink, feel the wind in your hair with the excitement of tobogganing, enjoy the freedom of touring the Coffs coast on a trike or tempt yourself with the mouthwatering candies in the Candy Kitchen as you watch how it's done.

There is so much fun to be had at the Big Banana, plan to stay for the day with loads more to keep the whole family entertained.
