A short, spectacular drive from Sydney, Canberra or Wollongong will bring you to a hidden valley where you'll find the Wombeyan Caves. The Wollondilly and Junction caves offer excellent all round tours with a wide variety of features, and the Figtree Cave is regarded as the state's premier self-guided cave experience.

There is an abundance of campsites along the picturesque Wombeyan Creek. There is a communal kithen and dining room with stove, barbecues, fridge, urn, tables and chairs. There are three amenities blocks with hot showers and flush toilets. Fire places are provided, but you will need to bring your own firewood.

Activities include cave tours, camping, hiking, canyoning, tennis and swimming. This is also an ideal place for bird watching and photography.

Getting there: Sydney via Goulburn 3hrs, Sydney via Mittagong 2.5hrs, Canberra via Goulburn 2hrs, Wollongong via Bowral 2hrs
