Devils Marbles

Devils Marbles Tennant Creek - NT Landmarks

Landmark: Devils Marbles
Address: Stuart Highway, Davenport, 0872, NT

Located in the Barkly region approximately 106 kilometres south of the Barkly region's Golden Heart, Tennant Creek and between Alice Springs and Katherine. The massive boulders of the Devils Marbles form an impressive sight that will remain embedded in your memory for a long time to come. The Devils Marbles is traditionally referred to as Karlu Karlu and have long held a certain sense of peace and tranquility in the middle of the stunning outback. These granite boulders teeter on top of each other in a way that seems dangerously impossible and when the sun rises and sets you will be treated to a show that makes it well worth staying overnight for.

Have the camera at the ready for a display of glowing boulders as the fiery sun lights them up, providing sensational photo opportunities. Camp spots are usually in great demand so don't plan your arrival too late in the day. To achieve the greatest benefit from your visit take a self guided walk or participate in a local ranger guided walk, recommended during the cooler months.
