Dalby

Dalby - Southern West - Queensland

Dalby is a hub of rural enterprise where the entire region plays host to one of the most distinct , fertile agricultural areas in Australia, situated on the black soil plains of the Northern darling Downs. Located 85 kilometres west of Toowoomba, Dalby boasts an agricultural college and major industries of sheep, pigs, cattle, cotton, wheat and sorghum.

A self guided walking inspection among Dalby's historic buildings will take you on a journey back in time where you can visit the Pioneer Park Museum learning about local history and culture through the huge variety of exhibits on display. Experience what life was like back in the 'good old days' with working farm machinery dating back to the late 1800's and early 1900's, household and clothing items and a collection of fossils, minerals and rocks.

Spend the long weekend in May at the Dalby Picnic races, celebrated as one of Queensland's biggest regional race days. Take a pit stop at Thomas Jack Park on the edge of town for the kids to run around in the playground.
