The strong German heritage lives on in the town of Angaston, 77 kilometres north east of Adelaide, with a German butcher shop still going strong, churning out wursts for the last 60 years. Visit the old Angas family home, 'Collingrove', where one of South Australia's founders, George Fife Angus lived. This tourist attraction is now owned by the National Trust and provide accommodation for visitors. George Fife Angus purchased the first piece of land and it is from his name that the town's name was acquired. The Angus family continued to have a considerable impact on the town as they sponsored many of the regions early German settlers.

Angaston's main street is bordered by Moreton Bay Figs and Jacarandas adding to the charm of this busy town as it flaunts its epicurean excesses.
