Tumby Bay

Tumby Bay - Eyre Peninsula - South Australia

Tumby Bay is a gorgeous seaside town where the usually small population swells in the Summer months as holiday makers flock to this piece of paradise for a big slice of peace and tranquility. Located 45 kilometres north of Port Lincoln it is difficult to believe that from its discovery by Mr Matthew Flinders in 1802 it took almost a century for settlers to establish themselves in this pristine environment on the east coast of the Eyre Peninsula. Loll about in the sparkling waters, spread your towel out somewhere along the 10 kilometres of golden sand while you admire the towering pine trees adorning the foreshore to set the mood for coastal relaxation.

The town of Tumby Bay provides all the necessities for visitors comfort including museums, art galleries, cafes and shops or step out for a wander along the Mangrove Boardwalk, pretty parks and gardens, walking trails and lookouts. There are scenic drives to experience, short or long days of exploration, the choice is yours. Weave your way through rolling farm land cloaked in ever changing shades with each season and the Koppio Hills' fascinating birdlife. Landscape that creates a visually spectacular backdrop for this enchanting town.

On the doorstep of Tumby Bay are the towns of Coffin Bay and Port Lincoln.
