Port Victoria

Port Victoria - Yorke Peninsula - South Australia

Port Victoria proudly declares itself as 'the last of the Windjammer ports' as it was once a major port for grain exports swarming with ships of all sizes, including the mammoth Windjammers. These ships were anchored in the harbour and loaded up with grain to be exported as far away as England. Today the town is popular for family holidays, fishing and diving adventures. Located on the Spencer Gulf Coast, southern Yorke Peninsula, 190 kilometres west of Adelaide.

The Underwater Maritime Heritage Trail celebrates maritime culture and is a mecca for diving enthusiasts with nine shipwrecks under the waters surrounding Wardang Island, of which eight are included in the trail. The interpretive track along the Geology Trail gives visitors an insight into the coasts ancient volcanic history and the Maritime Museum displays relics and artefacts of the town's great Windjammer past.
