A visit to Hobart is not complete without experiencing the windiest location at the summit of Mount Wellington. Located just a 20 minute drive from town, the sweeping views over the the city and Hobart's sparkling harbour are a must see.

Standing 1,270 metres above Hobart, visitors are able to look out to Bruny Island, South Arm and the Iron Pot and the Tasman Peninsula. The inspiring 21 kilometre drive traverses through temperate rainforest to sub-alpine plant life and arctic rock formations.

There are plenty of opportunities to get active at Mount Wellington no matter what your preference for action involves. The annual 'Point to Pinnacle' Fun Run is one option or scale the rock face with an abseiling adventure. Hop on a bike and tackle the Mount Wellington Descent or hit the trails on a bike or on foot, there are bushwalking tracks suitable to all fitness levels.
