Nhill is a great place to start your exploration of Little Desert National Park and is approximately half-way between Melbourne and Adelaide. Surrounding the town is abundant wheat growing and sheep grazing district along with state and national parks. Nhill is also home to the largest grain silo in Australia and forms part of the historic Noske Flour Mills. Wind your way along the elevated walkway, Nhill Swamp Boardwalk, winding through swampland at the southern end of town and the self guided historical walk taking in a collection of buildings lining both Nelson and Victoria streets.

Little Desert National Park is spread over 132,647 hectares containing an astonishing 600 kilometres of tracks to explore. Visit during Spring and enjoy the show of over 600 species of wildflowers and over 40 varieties of ground orchids. The immense number of tracks are perfect for a four wheel driving adventure however for the best way to comprehend the beauty of natures display is to strap on those boots and start walking. Visitors have the option to stay in the park at The Little Desert Lodge where day tours also depart from this point.
