Landmark: Arts Centre Spire
Address: 100 St Kilda Road, Melbourne, 3004, VIC

The Arts Centre Spire is a prominent iconic symbol of Melbourne situated on St Kilda Road, just south of the Yarra and a feature of the Southbank arts and culture precinct. Home to Melbourne's performing arts scene, the easily recognisable spire soars high up out of the Arts Centre in all of its 162 metre glory. Lighting up the city's night sky like a beacon, the steel spire is illuminated with 6,600 metres of optic fibre tubing and 150 metres of neon tubing. The Arts Centre is a world class venue featuring theatres and concert halls for performing arts, hosting performances from major Australian companies like Opera Australia, The Australian Ballet, Melbourne Theatre Company and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra as well International performances and production companies.

The spectacular Arts Centre Complex was opened in 1977 and is open daily to the public. Visitors can also enjoy many other activities within this complex with exhibitions, Sunday markets and guided tours offering an insight into the history of the centre along with enjoyable stories which have taken place during its vibrant past.
