Twenty kilometres west of Karratha lies Dampier, named after England's William Dampier, it is the biggest tonnage shipping port in Australia. Dampier is home to a sensational white beach where locals and visitors alike can relax under the shade of coconut trees and enjoy a relaxing barbecue with the facilities provided and watch the spectacular sun setting over the crystal water.
