Halls Creek is the gateway to outstanding natural attractions as it sits on the northern edge of the Great Sandy Desert with the accolade pf having Australia's first gold discovery in 1885. The town became the last pit stop before stock drovers embarked on the famous Canning Stock Route when the town site was relocated in 1955 and is now a fast growing shire servicing Aboriginal communities, pastoralists and travellers.

Purnululu National Park is a must with the world heritage listed Bungle Bungle Range and the phenomenal natural china wall. Visit the 300,000 year old site of the world's second largest crater at Wolfe Creek which was created by a giant meteorite when it crashed to earth. Saw Pit Gorge is perfect for a swim, picnic or a spot of fishing and immerse yourself in the tranquil surroundings of fresh water springs at Palm Springs or Caroline's Pool.
